BMW 545i vs. CTS-V
So a few friends and I met up for some go kart racing last night. I met them at Go Kart Racer by myself in the V. After some intense racing, we decided to head out to a bar for a drink. I was going to follow my homeboys friend in his BMW 545i. I get out onto the road behind them and my buddy calls me on the cell saying his friend wants to race me. I said okay
So we get out onto the highway and slow down to about a 50 roll. I drop it into third look over and give him the hit. He takes it and the by the top of fourth I already have a car and a half on him. But slower traffic limits us to about 100.
Second race I get up to him and slow it down to about a 45 roll. I am in third again, and I honk 3 times. This time I just start to pull away from him at the top of third through fourth. I get at least 3 -4 car lengths on him up to about 110.
We get to the bar and talked a little bit. His excuse was the throttle on these newer BMW's have a hesitation when the gas is applied. I wasn't really buying his story. But I do know 545i's are at least mid 13 second cars. But it was no match for the mighty V.

You should at least get a tune until your go into the motor. Wanna race sometime?
Actually a 550i would run mid 13s at 105mph. A 545i worse so the race sounds right. Was it an auto or stick? If auto, holding his gear?

Love the V's and I knew their potency when I ran one on the highway. I got him in my powerband (poor soul) and left him pretty good but those are really awesome rides.
I know better than to screw with an 09'....
