Default got called out by an STi

My friend wants to race me. He has an 06 Sti...basically just CAI, catback, and tune. My car is an A4...2.73's with full bolt ons and drag radials...hooks pretty good. How do you think the race will turn out? Would it be better for us to go from a roll or from a dig?

You'll have him from a dig, if you hook good as youre telling and from a roll its over too.

STI's come out hard from a dig...like 1.7 60 foots on the street, stock. Id try from a roll. In stock form they only trap around 102. Id try a roll. My car stock with exhaust, lid, and 2.73s on street tires went 13.28 @ 107 and my friends stock 07 STI went 13.2x @ 102 packed me in from a dig on the street...but from a roll it was my game.

IMO, it doesn't matter if you win or lose just do it to do it and let us know what happens.

Get some gears in that bish.. 3.90s or 3.73s for the win..

I'd say you have him though.. I haven't had a chance to witness the AWD cars but I would think if you could hook up decently then it's on like Donkey Kong.

I wouldn't try a dig with 2.73s. Take him from a 35 roll. Are you stalled?

If not, stall/gear that car and take him from wherever he wants to go.

x2 on that. My car has the 2.73s and it will run like hell from 35. 40 sux though, feels like a damn econobox.

You'd be better off from a roll, just make sure you know where your sweet spot is. Unless he's afraid to really launch his car, if he's gonna baby the launch take him from a dig.

Run him from a dig and various rolls. And get them all on video. Stick the passenger with the camera in his car and tell him it will help evenly distribute the weight to all four wheels so he can hook up.

They come out hard on a launch but they need a good driver. You should get him either way.

& yes please get some gears or converter.

If it's just a friendly race with a buddy, try a couple different races to see who has the advantage where. Not like you're racing some big rival or for some large amount of money.

Your friend is stage 2 with a tune so he's putting anywhere from 290awhp to 315awhp roughly with a good tune ! His torque #'s should be 360+ if the tuner knew what he was doing all on pump gas. If he had meth you can add 15-20 awhp to those numbers. If your friend is a good driver then that's a 12.5-12.8 car easy !

40-45mph is a sweet spot for STi's but should still take him from roll. If your friend can launch it pretty good he should take you at the launch but with your DR's you"ll reel him in.

Good luck ! Let us know how it turns out !
