You can grind off the letters and paint or put on a Camaro decal.

You can also use Camaro calipers, they work with the C5 brackets.

The Camaro calipers actually have a bigger piston that the C5 brakes, so the C5 brakes put a little more bias on the rears. The Vette Calipers are made better (Pressure cast versus gravity cast Camaro calipers), but either will work. I went with the Camaro calipers on mine.

the brackets i bought require no modifications to the spindle, which was important to me. they use the stock camaro caliper, and i bought c5 front/ls1 rear rotors from rotors online. i use hawk hps pads and the car stops really nice. they stop good cold and begin to bite one warmed up. i have about $480 in the eintire swap.

Most likely... they work good but only work on the LS1 models. We choose our design since it will work on both the LT1 and LS1 models

So does that mean they arent several pieces of aluminum as was stated earlier?

Is there any difference between the black or red calipers in the C5 brakes conversion. I've noticed UMI offers a choice of colors but BMR does not.

The only difference is the color, the calipers are exactly the same... the C5 used black calipers and the Z06 used the red calipers.

If I can help anymore please ask. thank you!

UMI brackets here, see sig for my how to. Also there is more like 3 cuts with a saw on LT1's, but it goes easy with a good blade and sawz all.

The rotors are C5 rotors big bird. Also the c5 will fit most 17" wheels, their website lists the ones it does not fit.

And No point upgrading the back.

pulling these numbers from memory, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

93-97 (LT1) Fbod: 10.5"
98-02 (LS1) Fbod: 12"
C5: 13"
C5 Z06: 13"
C6: ??
C6 Z06: 14"
Brembo:??

Also, minimum wheel size is usually 4" bigger than the rotor.

I thought I replied to you. Maybe my post got hijacked or maybe this thread is still up on my computer at work and I never hit the reply button.

Mine came from a popular E website. They were about $135. My whole setup (brackets, rotors, pads) may be up for sale on here. It all has about 200 miles on it, everything is still like new, but I think the car may be demodded and sold.

Default vette or camaro calipers for street /track

So,,,this upgrade is really only if your auto cross racing???Because after doing a search LOL!!((MY FIRST ONE)) by the way guys LOL It seems the camaro caliper ACTUALLY has bigger pistons then the c5 or c6 calipers, but is pressure verses gravity HOW,,,,does this equate into street driven or track? or am I better off staying with my camaro calipers if im not auto racing? I diffinatly want to upgrade my rotor size with the bigger rotors, but want a nice looking caliper too!,, to bolt right on. What are my options here? Buy a powder coated camaro caliper or are there aftermarkets that are the same size as the camaro calipers ????thanks Barnat

You are correct, the Camaro calipers will fit, and do have bigger pistons than the C5 calipers.

you also have to think to, theres different brake pads you probably can get for c5 calipers that could be a better and u cant get them for ls1 camaro calipers. im not sure but just a thought.

I did a search on this subject on here and from what I found alot of C6 vette guys were not happy with there 14''brake setup and actually perfered the C5 13'' over their C6 setup and the C5 pads and rotors are cheaper and last longer. IS THIS TRUE?
