What brake fluid do you guys use for our cars?
I need to ad some brake fluid and was wondering what brand brake fluid everyone is using. Are ya just using the one from GM, or is the something we can purchase from the local autoparts store?

The Valvoline Synpower (I think, it's "syn-something) looks to be pretty good (I've had freinds use it, but I haven't).
I use ATE Super Blue and ATE Type 200. THey are the same fluid, but the super blue is "blue" and the type 200 is "gold". THis way you can tell when you are starting to get fresh fluid out of the caliper when you are bleeding brakes. You can get it for about $9.99 a liter at www.ogracing.com.
You may find this to be interesting information.

The Ford stuff was much better before they started putting it in plastic cans. The plastic can allow the fluid to absorb moisture while in storage. I used to use the ford fluid exclusively, but now that it "doesn't come in a can", I found a replacement. Also, the ford is actually more expensive than the ATE ($10 a liter for ATE vs. $6.95 per 12 ounces for ford). Anyway, if it is what you have on hand, it is good fluid, it just used to be "better fluid".
My thoughts....

Huh, That sucks it's always been in a metal can when I used it. I haven't bought it in awhile though. Thanks for the information.I too would suggest avoiding plastic bottled brake fluid in a performance application.

I use Castrol SRF ... liquid gold!
After being in the car for numerous track days, I decided to do a sanity bleed to make sure the fluid was still fresh.
It came out as clear as it went in.
It's pricey, but it's good stuff.

It appears that OG racing is working on their website??? It worked the other day. Hmmm. I buy mine from them, but I go to the store at Summit Point Raceway (run by og) and get it when I'm "back home".

I used Motul for a long time. It is a very good brake fluid easily available at most motorcycle dealerships.
But it discolored very quickly. That kind of bothered me as I equated the discoloration with water contamination. That has yet to happen with Castrol ...
The initial investment is quite high. But because I'm not having to bleed the brakes and flush the system as often, it has actually been less expensive overall.
