the handling is so much different than it was before. my rear suspension feels so planted, it feels like when i take a turn, the rear end turns first, then waits for the front end to catch up... of course, that could be because i still havent put my front billsteins in and i have crappy outer tie rods, but thats getting taken care of this weekend.

ya, i figured the extra weight of the watts link to the panhard rod and support would be evened out if i also took the exhaust off. well, that and it makes it a hell of a lot easier to adjust and everything when there isnt some big honkin piece of metal getting in your way all the time. plus, it sounds way better now

Those bolt heads look HUGE!! What size are they?
Did you get the front/shocks on and everything matched up? What was the setup before vs. now? Have you driven a car with a good PHB vs. this to compare? I really believe there is a major difference but would like to hear some experienced opinions on this.
Thanks!

The best PHB does not correct the geometry issues that come from how the PHB is mounted and how it must move. While they are stiffer, a different PHB does not give you the ability to change RC height, should you want to. And a PHB's mouting means you always have some lateral movement of the body relative to body motion which the Watts all but eliminates that.
I have driven both... The Watts link feels very, very different (and not in a bad way)

Google watts link, plenty of info on it. Basically holds the rear end centered a different way than the panhard.
Basic image on how it works.

More predictable handling because you don't get the jacking effect, lateral movement of the body, or the roll center height changes that PHB's give.
The rear feels much more planted or "stuck". Note, this is not something that will take the place of good shocks that also settle the rear down by a huge factor. Stock and cheap shocks are in fact a much bigger problem then the inherent inefficiencies of the PHB design (they are inexpensive, but crudely effective).
If you take some time and search as Jay suggested you'll get a ton of information. Much from Mustang sites since they've had them for much longer, but 100% applicable since they too are solid axle, RWD cars. Search any combination you can think of. And if you go to YouTube there are in action videos and diagrams you can look at.
You get more traction or better handling? In a straight line, traction isn't helped or hurt, but it is when cornering as it the grip from the rear of the car.

our cars are generally known for understeer/push, wouldnt this increase in rear grip just add more understeer, or is the balance evened out with say going with strano/koni anti-roll bars, dampers and springs?
