Default Spring indexing

The rear of my car seems to sit higher than most peoples. My strano's are coming next month, so I just put the koni shocks on the rear with the stock springs for now.

After reading several posts about stock height being about 26.5"-27.5" to the fender lip I decided to measure both the driver, and passenger side rear height to the fender lip from the ground. The measurement is 29" on both sides(running 17" rear wheels). The front Dr/Ps sides fall nto the 26.5" range

The rear has always seemed high to me, even for stock. I'm wondering if the springs being indexed improperly would cause this, or if that would only cause the rear to be uneven.

sounds like your front is already lowered.

my BMR 1.2" springs dropped my rear to 26 5/8"....and it was definatly low.

can't imagine "stock" being anywhere near 26.5"

ALSO
the BMR springs dropped my front to 26 7/8" (stock was 27 5/8")...which wasn't as much as i expected. but if that's what yours is "stock" something is different!!!

IIRC, the open, or "pigtail" end of the rear spring faces the front of the car. When you get it "just right" you can tell, as the spring sits pretty flat in the perch on the axle.

This is correct
Pigtails face the front of the car.

The Manuals I've seen say to point the pigtails forward

Curious what the mileage was when you seen them this way because my stock springs actually twisted over time and were pointing at one another.

I found that spring positioning can actually alter the ride height slightly. I always suggest people with uneven rear heights try it. I set my stranos up to both face towards the driver side. Maybe I'll try pointing them forward since I'll be under there replacing my pinion bearings anyway.
