Default Aluminum solid motor mounts. Will they hold?

The other night my brother and I made some aluminum motor mounts for his 99 camaro ss. We're going to put them on this weekend so I told him I would go on some forums and get some feedback from others. Will they hold or should we just make them from steel? Just bear with me, my brother is the car guy, not me. Thanks in advance. Here's a picture I took with my phone.

Those are some buttery welds, they should hold with authority.

Let me just put it this way - those wouldn't even be allowed in the garage my Camaro lives in.

Thanks a lot guys. The welding is by my brother, ugly bolt holes by me. I'm on my way to his house now to put them on. Do you guys think aluminum will be strong enough?

Welds look great, except towards the ends of the gussets.. the holes.. um, yeah i wouldnt bolt those into my car. i dont think aluminum will handle the abuse a solid motor mount sustains.

While the weld beads look neat and clean...it looks like there is some serious thinning of the material right where it meets the weld bead, and I'd be VERY VERY nervous about it cracking and letting the engine free.

So that said, I'd re-make them paying more attention to the material, or just using steel.

God made them from steel for a reason. Why do you want to switch?

It was just an idea we had and we had the material on hand. We didn't get to put them on this weekend, other stuff came up. We'll try next weekend. I'll repost and let yall know how it goes.
