Default removing rear springs on a 9 inch

they don't just fall out like a stock 10 bolt...so do you need a spring compressor?

I don't have any 9 bolt experience. As long as they sit the same way as they do on the 10 bolt, then you shouldn't have to use a compressor. Did you disconnect the rear swaybar and the upper shock nuts from the interior? When you do that you should just be able to drop the rear axle down.

disconnected the bottom of the shocks (top of qa1's is a PITA with it being "rounded")

didn't disconnect the rear swaybar however

they sit identical to a 10 bolt however the perch is ALOT taller.

I forgot to disconnect my swaybar when I did my springs the first time. The swaybar is mounted on the axle and connected to the chassis. Your axle is hanging on your chassis at this point. Disconnect the swaybar endlinks and you should be able to drop the axle down and get the springs out.

thanks Bryan, so disconnecting the shocks, and the endlinks on the swaybar the rear will drop far enough to get the springs out?
