Default hose mod squeaking....

anyone have this problem? this is extremely annoying, the hose wraps around the entire coil and then some...no metal is touching the body of the car.

yet it sounds like I have mice back there.

How long have you been running this mod? Although I understand the logig behind doing this "trick", I really don't think that rubber hose will hold up over the long haul. IMHO, while this will work in getting the car that last little bit lower, you might have to replace the hose once in a while, because it might wear through.

OR, it could be squeaking LCA bushings or sway bar bushings...

Do you have poly swaybar bushings where it mounts to the axle? If you do, when is the last time you greased them? Those bushings ungreased made a squeaky mouse sound over uneven roads and bumps.

the only bushings I have are the poly ones going to the swaybar...I just removed that yesterday and didn't grease them didn't know you were suppose to,what kind of grease do I use?

if I push down on the wing they squeak. every bump in the road makes it squeak.

yes, all poly bushings are supposed to be greased. There's a special grease the was probably shipped with the bushings in a little plastic tube. If you don't have the tubes anymore you can order some up from summit.

I've got a tube of this stuff. and I re-grease/replace my bushings once a year and I only put 500 miles on the car each year. Course, that's 60 seconds at a time.

I would give that a try. I used Mobil 1 synthetic grease for a while. I bought a canister of marine grade grease recently but haven't used it yet. I think choice of grease is ones own opinion, and I don't really have a lot of experience with multiple kinds.

Actually it's not a matter of preference. Petroleum based grease will degrade the bushings. Plus it is easier for it "wash away" vs. the supper sticky grease.

I agree, however I've also successfully used a grease called "Super Lube"...

I had the hose mod too and I know what squeak you are talking about. It got so bad I put the isolators back on and it stayed the same height but thats 2 years on Stranos and Konis.

Is that true? Ok don't listen to my advice, I'm using the wrong stuff. So even the regular marine grade ball joint grease is a bad idea too?

Yep even the marine based grease is a bad idea. The "grease" for the poly bushings is silicon based.
