Default Correct way to install BMR LCA?

The instructions that came with it are contrary to what I've read online. They say to initially jack up the car with no load on the axle to remove the old LCAs, but to load the axle before tighenting the new LCAs.

I always thought you raise the car from the axle and do the whole install (one side at a time) with the axle loaded? Any suggestions, comments, etc..

Thanks!

Tommy

Yes you can just have it jacked up by the axle. It's loaded then.

Goto www.bmrfabrication.com they have a install documentation section. You can print out the same instructions that should have came with your parts.

NOOOOO.....

That is a good way to get killed. If the car shifts on the stands when you remove an arm, it will (may?) land on your head. It also makes the job much more difficult since you have to muscle the whole car around instead of just the axle.

Put jackstands under the frame, install the arms, move the stands to under the axle and tighten the arms down. That is the only safe way to do it.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info. I think I will try "the not get killed method". Sound better for the long term

Have jackstands under the body also.

One more quick (possibly ridiculous) question:

I bought the tubular poly/rubber LCAs.
Does the poly side or the rubber side mount to the frame?

Thanks!
