Default Factory K Member Alignment help please

Does anyone have access to a service manual that states how to measure the k-member and from where to make sure it's in it's proper location under the car? I tried a searching for a while and couldn't find anything. I dropped the k-member to swap the engine and after an alignment it seems almost darty at times.

Any help from the manual would be appreciated.

The K member should have alignment pins that fit into the frame rails, so really there should be no alignment or adjustment necessary.

I've noticed the same things, and after droppin the K member, I have the same complaint.

I do not have the service manuals for this car, I'll have to search on the service DVD.

Well i suppose you could take a cutoff wheel, remove the alignment pins and try to align it yourself, which will prolly result in it being mislocated anyway. There is not alot of play between the alignment pins and the holes they go in, it would be pointless to put them on the kmember if they were going to allow movement and mislocate the kmember wouldnt you think? But if your convinced that it is out of location then you can measure it but your gonna have hell trying to find dimensions to measure to. Unless you can get some from a body shop, and they may not even have it.

The only other way i think it could be out of location is if you have frame issues, but then you may have bigger problems to deal with.

I have a 2nd gen manual and there is a way to measure it for proper location. I have seen a 3rd gen manual that was similar. I'd think there is something in the manual for these cars as well. Maybe it is in a body manual like the 2nd gen was.

There is very little, to no play at all with those pins! If the car didn't dart before, I find it hard to believe that you got the K-member installed in such a way that it now darts?

Anyway, your best bet is to take the car in for an alignment if you're convinced that the frame isn't trued up 100%.
