Hi Guys, if you refer back to the start of this thread, we were helping out with a group buy. Since then we have left and came back. I'd be happy to help anyone with OEM GM parts for this set up.
Thanks
Kevin

Will do. Fom all the reading I might not need a spacer. But I think I'm gonna put a 5mm spacer if I can find one. Cuz I believe the op had less then 1.25" clearance and the calipers barely touched the rim.

The fact that they were 20" probably gave me alittle more room than if they were 18 or 19" wheels, if you look closely at the spoke design...where they flare-out at the end, it has a real slight curve backwards, which is where the CTS-v caliper was rubbing.
As you can see with the stock caliper, they did not stick out far enough to take that slight curve into consideration...so I guess I actually had less than the 1 7/16" from where the CTS-v caliper is located, but I was measuring from the stock caliper location.
Stock vs. CTS-v

back in may i did my v1 ctsv brake upgrade on my ls1 3rd gen m
i saw that the new 6piston kit is offered. im sure it would take a lot more work. and bigger wheel. atleast a 19
so i settled with the first 4 piston caliper kit offered, pretty affordable.
so i was looking at the rears that are in the market from gm parts direct. 4 piston ctsv or the 2010 camaros for the rear. they come with the mounting plates. im sure its not a direct fit.. but im sure they can be modified onto the 4th gen diff housing.
has anyone attempted this?

I had the 19x9.5 HP evos (lightning) and have the c5 brake conversion up front and had to run a spacer with those. The problem isn't so much the offset, but the spoke design of most wheels. Most wheels that have a fat lip are going to be a problem because to get that fat lip, but have the proper offset, you have spokes that tail bat in at the hoop to give you that lip. Look at most of the c6 wheel designs and you'll see that you rarely have a lip on them, that's because they couldn't get a lip, and be able to clear the brakes, and have the proper wheel placement, so they gave up on the fat lip.

Thanks Alchemist, that's what I was worried about happening. Time to continue the search for a pair of front wheels.
I've skimmed through the thread but maybe I missed any rims that fit w/o spacers. I need too much rubber to have 19s or 20s. My business requires me to drive on nasty roads sometimes and often in the middle of nowhere with replacement tires hard to find.

Has anybody thought about using a Hummer H3 4 piston calipers? They come on the standard 16" rimmed H3 Hummer's. They look like Brembo's but all I can find is there made by GM
