Super Cheap Big Brake Kit - Info

Sweet! I know the ZR1 caliper has the same attachment points as the other vette calipers. I am wondering if the new V caliper has the same points as the old one or of they changed the knuckle interface. Not sure about the rotor though. That is not published in a magazine article or anything on the car? It set so many records and received accolades. It's gotta be somewhere.....
well hell. just buy a kore3 kit and call it a day

But your not measuring the stock brakes. Since you already have a vette offset rotor on your car, then the 4 piston caliper will only need another 3/4". So on your car you shouldn't need any wheel spacer to clear the spokes.

The F-body caliper, on the other hand, is shaped for the 12" rotor and doesn't fit very welll over the 2" larger rotor. This is what I've neen told on multiple ocassions.

[QUOTE=JasonWW;11684801]No difference. Even the regular C5 should be the same.

I attempted to do the CTS-V upgrade today, no go on the caliper to spoke clearance. Looks like I need a ton more room, the wheel isn't even close to fitting on the hub. With 1/4" worth of washers, its still not enough. By my measurements, I need 5/8" more clearance, so I guess I'll have to go with a 1" hub adapter??
Wheels are C6 Z06 with a stock F-body 56mm offset.
Please help...

What width is that rim?
If you need a full inch to clear the caliper, then a adapter is the best choice. They can be as thin as 3/4".

For the big 2 piston setup:
Calipers
Abutment brackets
14" Rotors
Kore3 brackets $115
I think you can keep your lines.
Kore3 also sells the parts as a kit for $775. It includes new braided lines. You can check it out on their site.
These brackets require cutting on you spindles.
The one down side is that this setup costs about the same as the 4 piston setup. You could probably save a lot of money getting used calipers and abutment brackets from a vette guy who has upgraded.
I should also mention that this swap reduces spoke clearance by about 1/4". That's not an issue for you.

With the stock F-body brakes, the spoke-to-caliper clearance was just about an inch, maybe a hair under.
My wheels are 56mm offset, 9.5" wide. The Z06 uses 40mm offset, which is where I'm losing the 16mm that I need for clearance.
I don't need a full inch, and I don't want my front wheels to stick out another inch, so I'm going to try and get some 1/2" wheel spacers with some Grade 8 extended wheel studs. That should be just enough, if not I could add something like a 1/16" spacer to get it just right.

I was hoping it would be closer, like maybe 1/4" or 5/16" clearance needed. In actuality is 1/2" to 5/8" clearance that I need.

Did I miss it somewhere, do you know the exact size of the spacers needed in between the capliper and spindle? Length of the bolts as well? I'd like to gather everything up before I get the calipers and such.
Anyone wanna buy a nice set of LS1 calipers with new pads and turned rotors? Haha

Its all in the offset. A member of LS1.com did the C6 Z06 upgrade, and he used wheels directly off a Z06 with the Z06 40mm offset. He had zero clearance problems. My wheels are the same size and width as his, 18" x 9.5, but with the F-body 56mm offset. So basically he has another 16mm of space to work with that I don't have. Thread can be found here.
