Default ABS,BRAKE,ASR inop after wheel swap

Ok i just swapped out my stock wheels/tires which were 235/55/16 for some 17x9.5 and 17x11 zr1's. Now when i drive in town (usually under 40mph) none of the lights come on, but when i drive on the hightway (above 60mph) my abs, brake, asr lights come on.

I can park it, shut it off then start it and light are off. Again driving in town is fine but once i get on the highway, they are on. Now the thing is I have 245/40/17 up front with 315/35/17 rears. I was told that a big tire size difference can do it. Also if there is too much of a difference in voltage from the front wheels to the rear wheels it will throw the lights, this true? you think this is my problem? I probably should go 275/40/17 up front.

what do you guys think?

I think your tire diameter is too far off. Front vs Rear. It has to be pretty close to prevent driving the ABS nuts.

Same tire diameter is BEST!!!!!!!!!

Going to 275/40/17 up front would probably help.

Look at the tires manufacturers web site and see if the tire diameters/circumference are the same... or at least really close.

front tire is way wrong, you should have went with 245/45/17 to keep them equal height but I would never put anything smaller than 275/40/17 on a 17x9.5" wheel.

A 275/40ZR17 will fit WAY better on a 9.5" wide wheel too.

does this cause any damage to anything? i noticed that it just happened to me as well. it is only for my drag tires/wheels since my front tires are shorter and my street radials in the rear are taller. i don't really care if it doesn't have abs, i just want to make sure the brakes and everything else will work properly.

i dont think it could damage anything. Over the weekend I drove to my fathers house which is about 2hrs worth of driving. Lots of braking involved but didnt have problems. Just gave myself a little more distance for braking since no ABS. Im putting on my tires today so hopefully that corrects it.
