Thanks! As much as I like the CTS-V... the V is out of place on the trans am... had to change it haha I've never been so excited to get my face pealed off! I didn't go with crazy pads on the front but stepped up the rear to hawks ceramics to help with the bias. What do you run in the rear? and how do you feel your brake bias is?

I run NAPA $19.99 pads in the rear, i was told not to go with anything good in the back because it will cause axle hop under heavy braking. I've got a Wilwood prop valve to put on to dial the bias back a little because they can lock up if you slam on them.

ah ok, I assume you have an ABS delete if you're running a proportioning valve? I guess we'll see if I can lockup my rear wheels, I can always switch around different pads to get what rear breaking I want.

haha I've been debating it... as far as I can tell so far ABS has been doing a good job for me with the stock brakes, at least keeping braking consistent and keeping my wheels from locking up. I can feel a tire lockup for a fraction of a second and ABS kicks in and takes care of it a lot faster than I could have ever reacted. though I've never driven a car without ABS hard to experience what its like without it.

I like the rotors you chose, can you send me a link where you got them?

I'm not the answer you are looking for but they look like they are by a company called Racing Brake. Won't post the link directly on forums but, product number 2072, they are about 1300 bucks on their website....yikes I assume he probably paid less though

Not sure what they are made with and not sure about your budget, but too rich for my blood that's for certain. For that price I'd hope the brakes throw me through the windshield lmao

Oh and if you want a direct link I found send me a message if you don't get another response.

Yes they are made by RB no they were not 1300, They are actually the Hurst 6260000 and can be had for under $450. I liked the idea of the 2 piece design and the lighter weight. I could not find a difference between these and the RB rotors except Hurst has their name printed on the side. I already sent The Alchemist a link, didn't think it was needed to post "PM sent" on this thread.

My bad, was just trying to help, I didn't mean to sound like a douche if that's how it came off. I was interested and I just figured other people would be interested in them also. I did see the Hurst brakes also but I figured it was the other one. Those are dope rotors though, and I don't doubt the value, I'm just a cheapskate

Just a little FYI. GM Z06 18x10.5 wheels fit over the brakes no spacer needed.

Probably a dumb question(s), but just want to make sure I have the proper materials before I bite the bullet and buy the CTS-V calipers.

1) I have stock size rotors from rotorsonline, the calipers will fit them without modification, right?

2) On Flynbye's will the brake lines for the CTS-V/LS1 conversion mentioned in the original post work for both front and rear brakes?

3) If the stock size rotors do work with the calipers are the new studs needed, or were they needed because the corvette rotors were used?

stock LS1 rotors? if so no... don't use them. CTS-V brakes are for 14" rotors not stock 12" rotor. You can use the corvette 14" rotor or the 2010 Camaro SS rotor

2) On Flynbye's will the brake lines for the CTS-V/LS1 conversion mentioned in the original post work for both front and rear brakes?

The CTS-V/LS1 conversion brake line kit is for fronts only. No need to upgrade rear brakes since you don't want axle hop during braking.

3) If the stock size rotors do work with the calipers are the new studs needed, or were they needed because the corvette rotors were used?

F-Body and corvette use same studs and bolt spacing so new studs are not necessary but seeing as I've broke a couple of them already and they are already at least 14 years old its a good idea to think about new ones.

Thank you very much for your response. I guess I'll be waiting a little while before I switch to the CTS-V brakes

The LS1 brakes are great! there is no reason to change to bigger brakes unless you are going to road race it.

5th gen rotors best for both. pads will overhang on C6Z rotors.
Shall 2mm washers be enough to center the 6 piston calipers over Z06 rotors?
