Default Tie rod bolt??

Ok, I just put in a new k-member and I was putting the tie rods back in, when I went to tighten the castle nut on the tie rod bolt the whole thing spins. There's nothing to hold a backup to and I don't know what else to try to get the bolt not to spin so I can tighten the nut.

i usually give it a tap with a rubber mallet on the tie rod side to seat the tie rod stud in the arm so that you can tighten it.

i always put pressure on them with my hand and hit it with an impact gun, usually zips them on before they have a chance to spin.

Unhappy

I'm using an impact, I'll try to seat the bolt by hitting hit with a hammer and see how that goes.

Thanks for the replies guys, hopefully this will work...

If you hold pressure down on the tie rod with a pry bar or similar it will hold the stud while you tighten the nut.

I am swaping an ls1 into a 95 z. I was worried that the castle nut was a different size but i think this is what is happening. Just spinning the stud. Anyone know otherwise?

You gotta use a pry bar or something to keep tension on the tie rod, and using an impact gun is best.
