Default UMI Torque arm problem

I finally got around to installing my t/a yesterday and on the initial drive everything felt great, but on the way home from work i started hearing a clicking noise from under the car only when i made hard right hand turns, so when i got home i put the car on stands and found that the the front of the drive shaft on the collar just after the yoke the edges had fresh rub marks and matching marks on the t/a. Now will this problem go away over time by just clearancing its self or did i install somthing wrong, I did check to make sure all the hardware was tight. And dont get me wrong, UMI makes an awsome product and i will buy more parts from them in a heart beat.

V/R
Chris

Thumbs up Thank you for choosing UMI Performance!

Hello Chris
First I would like to thank you for the business and glad that you like the products. Unfortunately you should not be having this problem for it to only make the noise when you turn the vehicle I would check to see what shape your transmission mount bushing and cross member bushing is in. Sounds like it might need replaced. If you have any other questions feel free to give us a call and Jerry in our tech dept. will be more than glad to help!
Thanks
Brad

Are you using a stock transmission crossmember and mount?

Yes i am with plans to upgrade to a relocation cross member. I dont see how just changing the t/a would all the sudden make a bad trans mission mount show up, and from what i saw from under the car it looked fine.

The aftermarket torque arms are made from bigger tubing versus the factory stamped steel piece. When you turn a corner and your tranny slightly shifts the larger diameter tube on the torque arm is going to rub if the mount is bad.

Hello
Just keep this in mind that if you do happen to go with a poly trans mount! It is possible that you might get a little vibration. That is why a lot of guys go with rubber. If you have any other questions feel free to ask and I will be more than glad to help.
Thanks
Brad
