The new C6 calipers have corvette cast in bigger letters, as opposed to the older Z06 calipers, it's bad! They also elimanted the fins in the back and it appears bulkier and possibly stronger.

BTW with the Z51 brackets and the 13.5 Z51 rotors 17's probably wont work. Would have to move to an 18" wheel. I would think I don't know for sure.
So are you saying the Z51 abument brackets are a bolt on?? Cuz I know 4sure the C5 abument brackets will not fit..!!

The Z51 PABs will bolt up. The Z51 brake pkg consists of the larger rotor and different PABs, same base C6 caliper.

Will not fit where? I'm not following you?

The current setup I have has the same design PABs I'm almost 100% the C5 and C6 PABs are the same.

Installed my c6 calipers/rotors. Excellent upgrade to the LT1 brakes!
-UMI c5 conversion brackets / hardware
-base c6 calipers and brackets
-stock c6 pads/rotors
-c6 brake lines
-modified LT1 spindle

2 piston just like the stock f body calipers - the design is essentially the same.

However the biggest difference is pressure cast vs. gravity cast, and of course the C6 calipers are a revised version of the already good C5 Z06 calipers.

THis is a great budget upgrade for anyone who likes banging on the brakes, for autox or RR.

I would feel very comfortable RR with the addition of some brake ducts and race pads. I dont think fade would become an issue.

Yea who needs brembos.... it's just envy talking haha.

Thanks, and yea I felt like a damn fool when it stripped.

The good thing is, I was able to find a work around and managed to replace them with no other issues.
Sometimes they're called "flare wrenches" and I've even heard "flare nut wrenches" as well...most "kits" include double ended wrenches, each wrench has 2 sizes so in the end you only wind up with like 10 or 12 new wrenches to cover metric and standard sizes...well worth it next time you're buying tools

Pabs?? what is that?? Basically the abument bracket is where the pads go inside and are held there by the notches on top and bottom. The corvette abument bracket will not match up with the holes.. (two big 15mm bolts) The F-body abuments will work but will not fit corvette pads unless you shave some meteal off of the bracket. So my question was does the Z51 abument bracket bolt on.. I wouldn't think it would since it almost the exact same one as the C5 Bracket.

Pad Abutment Brackets - PAB

The corvette abument bracket will not match up with the holes..
The C6 calipers will only bolt up as a direct swap if you continue to use the original F body PABs, but you can alos forget about the larger rotor. You would be stuck using the original f body rotor size.

This is why you need the conversion brackets....hello. Did you think this was a direct swap bolt on for the stock calipers?

And you are correct, once you fit the C5/C6 PABs, you should have no issues with the Z51 PABs.

Hope that clears up any confusion.

I see well when I did the C5 Z06 conversion I didn't use the pabs from the corevette cuz they wouldn't fit.!! I also had the Bracket for the conversion but it was not the track bracket tho.(mine still has the ear on the spidle) I'm guessing if I had the track bracket then the pabs from Z51 would of fit or the
C5/C6 would have also. As far as the rotor goes I was able to fit the corevette rotor without any trouble it was just the pads the gave me a little trouble.

Should of gone with original design track brackets.....you have to be careful since it appears there is now more than 3 choices on conversion brackets.

I suppose as you stated some do not allow you to use the C5 PABs. In which case I would stay away from those.

And not all conversion brackets are equal.

I just took a look at my car and figured that it wasn't the bracket that was the problem it was the bolts.!! The original bolts do not fit.!! they are one size smaller than the stock C5 bolts.!! I need to know the size of the bolts for the pabs on the C5.. If you have a part# that would be awesome.!!
