Dual rear caliper write-up????

Dual rear caliper write-up???? Does anyone have a link to info on how to set up dual calipers in the rear? Any links to a parts list, pics, or step-by-step would help. I'd like to do that this off-season but can not find a write-up on how to accomplish this task.

No not really cause the only people that have them is turbo cars. It's very FI relevant.

Not terribly difficult...though kinda pricey
buy a dual caliper kit...strange, aerospace, and wilwood all make kits. Though only some of them work with 9" rears with Big Ford axle ends...
Need a larger diameter manual master cylinder. The kits on sale on this board are 1 1/6" masters, but strange makes a 1 1/8" master thats a direct swap for the masters for ~$100 (or you may be able to convince the sponsor selling them to build with a 1 1/8" strange master at time of purchase)
Need a proportioning valve on the rear brakes (without one the rears tend to lock up first)
Other than that its just tee-ing the lines and running to the brake calipers...

This thread is a bit dated but I'll add to it anyway.
I am looking into running a dual rear caliper set-up but with the second caliper being more for a parking/emergency brake on separate lines with a hydraulic pull lever that replaces the standard parking brake lever. This appears to be more common on drift cars. I am installing 2010 Camaro rear Brembos on my car with an LS3 engine swap, and these brembos do not have parking brake capability. I can't find a good cable driven caliper for the parking brake that will fit 14" or 14.3" rotors, 1.1 to 1.25" wide. Thus I am interested in adding a second set of hydraulic calipers. (They would also be good for stealth mode deceleration to slow down when the radar detector goes off.)
I've been searching the web and haven't found much out there other than a few drift cars.

I do not believe that pad knockback would be an issue with my application.
I am looking to do this on a car with IRS. No axle to move back and forth.
Pad knockback could happen with only one caliper. It wouldn't matter if the second parking/drift caliper pistons are pushed out because the parking brake lever would pull them back in place.

Being Fi has nothing to do with what you're asking! It's called a "Line Lock" snd/or "Trans Break". If you can't hold your car at the line with what you have, you need to upgrade and your car is not a Space Shuttle. Fireball is trying to help you. What he has may help on the line, but would be very dangerous is used as such to try and stop. Purely launching and stopping has nothing to do with IRS vs. Solid Axle. It is a matter of Physics and Dynamics.

NA, supercharged, turbo'd or peddle powered....stopping is stopping.
