Drag racers, what shocks do you recommend?
I wanted to take the next step in upgrading my suspension with the shocks because my car is becoming more and more of a drag car. Im looking for shocks that will work awesome at the strip, but can be adjusted for street use. I was also wondering if theres a shock out there that does work well at the track, but can be adjusted to stock feel or even better. I dont really want a drag shock only, just somewhere in the between. If it had to be more than the other, I would have to say more track than street. Thank you!

The Hals seem to be what everyone is recommending me...do they really adjust from one extreme to another? (strip...street) So theres no other shock out there that compares to this one when it comes to both strip and street use? Lastly, I came across these new type R shocks by Hal, are they any good/better than the regular fronts? Anyone here have any experience with them? Thanks

They offer 2 styles of fronts and 1 style of rears...do I need to worry about the rears? Lastly, which fronts should I go with...the F or R series? Thanks

I am going with the R series because they are really an adjustable 90/10 drag shock in their softest position. What this means is that the shock in set in its softest setting it will extend or allow the front of the car to rise (10) very quickly and settle very slowly (90). The adjustment on the shock will allow you to only adjust the extension rate.
The F series allow you to adjust the extension and rebound rate at the same time to the same rate which is not ideal for drag racing because it will allow the front to rise AND settle very quickly.
Go with the QA1 R series or get a shock that has independent adjustments for the extension and rebound rate. AFCO (big $$$) makes this type of shock and BILLINGSLEY RACING sells >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Sponsor

[QUOTE=Vents]no kiddin, thats insane for a 17" tire. dont tell me that car is a 6 speed. Yes its a 6-speed with a 10-bolt filled with a 4:10 gear and Lucas Heavy Duty oil stabilizer, 315/35/17 Nittos. Let us pray!! It goes 1.77 60', 7.83@89.15 in the 1/8 and 12.18@112.95 in the 1/4.
