Default Duralast and Moog tie rods the same?

I've read before that some Moog products are sold under other brands at a much cheaper price. Apparently they're all made by Federal Mogul or something like that. Anyway, I'm looking to replace my tie rod ends and I'd much rather pay $17.99 vs $50.99.

What do you think?

yeah i'd go with the moog stuff. I paid a little bit higher prices for my stuff but since i also got an alignment and the total was only $300 ($320 w/ a $20 off coupon for any work over $200) i figure it's like i paid the higher prices but got the parts installed for almost nothing. IIRC had i gone to advance and bought inner and outer TRE's it would have been $235 before tax. so it's like i only paid $60 for the instal and alignment.

I always use the MOOG ProblemSolver series if available... IIRC it's their heavier duty line.

I wouldn't use anything besides MOOG or OEM parts for suspension. Just about everything else is garbage.

The "poly tie rod things" are simply replacement boots for the rubber boots that tend to crack and tear. I've used the ES boots and they are cool, but not really necessary.

The Baer tire rod ends are a combination of heim ends and an adjustable "pedestal mount" that is attached to the spindle in place of the outer tie rod end. The "pedestal" allows you to adjust the mounting height of the heim up and down, so you can get the tie rod to more closely follow the arc of the lower control arm. This, in turn, allows you to minimize bump steer, especially on lowered cars.

So we know the boots will last (being poly), but what about the actual tie rod ends themselves??

Moog joints meet or exceed OEM in terms of quality, and still use poly boots to seal out dirt.

The moog part is the entire tie-rod. The Energy supension poly boot is, well, just the boot. Do you need to replace the tie rod because it's worn or are you replacing it because the boots torn?

Good point. It appears that there is a little confusion on "BigBird's" part...

i am sorry my moog that i bought last year are great. i was just posing an option for the OP. then i was asking about the poly parts as a replace ment.

i dont need tie rods. just trying to throw outher options out there then just replacing the whole piece.

now if my moog boot tears i will probly run the poly part.
