Sumitomo tires are GARBAGE.. Get some good rubber on there... Dont skimp. Tires can be one of the best handing/braking/acceleration mods your car will ever see. Granted a lot of performance tires loose a lot of their benefits in cold weather, the Sumitomos start out like hockey pucks... At least with a good tire, the tread compound has a chance to heat up under normal driving and should work better than the Sumitomos in ideal weather.

Look into getting some good Michelins or some Nittos.. I know you can get a bad *** set of tires in Germany... There has to be a large demand in a country where parts of the national highway have no speed limits.

I used to have HTRZs on my Mustang and hated them. On my T/A I am currently using Michelin Pilot Sport AS+'s and I'm very happy with them. They might not be snow tires, but I have been able to go out every day this winter that I wanted to.

Best to get winter (rear at least) tires below 45°!

"Tire Safety below 45°
Winter Tires are designed to deliver safety and control in snow, ice, and cold weather conditions. Many people think that all-season tires can deliver this same performance, but this is not true. The superior traction that winter tires deliver, as much as a 25 to 50 percent increase over all-season tires, can very well be the margin you need to stop in time or turn to avoid trouble. "
