Default suspension height

Can anyone tell me how much travel or space there should be between the rear axle and the bump stop? Tryin to figure out if I have a spring problem. I have a firehawk with the slp bilstein suspension. I just replaced rear shocks with koni's but haven't test drove yet. Also there is not alot of travel to the bump stops currently when suspension is loaded.

I haven't looked at mine lately but are your BS's beat to hell? That should give you a clue. Why do think you may have a problem???

A little more info would be great!
What condition are the rear spring upper isolators in? That itself would cause the rear to sit lower then normal.
Also, remove the rear bump-stop spacers, that's good for regaining 1/2" of suspension compression travel.

Last year it was bottoming out hard there was not bump stop left on the passenger side driver side was fine. I replaced it with the jeep urethane ones with the spacer. There is only about 1/2 inch of travel from bumps to axle now. I know the isolators are in there but did not check their condition. What would one look for in the isolators? I think there is a problem because 1/2 inch travel seems small for a suspension to work.

You will need to remove the rear springs on each side to fully inspect each isolator to make sure the upper spring end hasn't worn through it.
The only other possibility is the springs are sagging/bent.

I just looked at mine, I have about 1/2" between the bump stop and axle too, but I am lowered on strano springs (about 1.2" lower than stock). 26.5" from ground to the top of the rear wheel well.
How many miles are on those springs?

90,000 miles are on it. Just picked this car up last june. This is a firehawk with the bilstein slp suspension. The springs are blue in color. I know that this suspension is lowered with the slp suspension. I will look at the spring isolators also to see if they are worn through. Thanks for the help.

Alright took some measurements of height from ground to fender lip. left front 26.25" right front 26.25" left rear 25.125" right rear 25.625". Looks low in the rear I am assuming spring sag. Isolators are fine not worn. I also assume Sam Strano springs are the recommended ones for replacement.

Sounds like your car's lowered which I'm pretty sure the firehawks came like that from the factory

Yeah, it sounds like those rear springs are shot! If you happy with the fronts you can get the Hotchkis 1" rear lowering springs, without having to buy a full set of springs.

Which would be better hotchkis 1" lowering, SLP lowering, or bmr lowering rear springs. I can get these just as rear springs or should i bite the bullet and get strano springs.

The Hotchkis rear springs are proven performers, and if you happy with the front spring you have in there now why change them. FYI, you can also get the front Hotchkis spring separately, so if later you want to upgrade just the fronts.
If you want to go a head and change the full set; then yes get the Strano's, or the Hotchkis full set if you want a slightly higher ride height, an softer progressive spring rate.

Installed hotchkis 1" lowering rear springs today. Love the ride much better. It is a firmer ride which is what i was looking for as well at getting the rear suspension height back up to where it belonged. The one isloator was worn and if anyone knows where I can get one or a pair I would appreciate it but will keep searching as well. 99Blu thanks for yor help and advice.

Get the rear upper isolator here for $15.16 each :
http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/catalog/frameset.cfm
Or you can check at any gm parts center, for about $26 each.
