Default Car Wobbles

Ok I have a fireturd that I lowered with eibach and also install adjustable KYB's upfront. However lately I have noticed that when I'm on the interstate and I wiggle the steering wheel the car wobbles a lot more than I remember. The shocks and springs have been on a while now and the car was aligned when I installed them, but the handling at higher speeds is just terrible. Could this be because I need and adjustable pan hard bar? I am looking to do rear sway or panhard bar. Which would correct this. Thanks

Ok I checked the measurements and the driver is .5, and the passenger is .75 from the fender. So would .25 matter that much. Or should I go ahead and get a sway bar. I just don't think the pan hard bar would do anything.

I would think problem would be one of the following:
front Tie Rod Ends, rear lower control arm Bushings or rear pan hard bar Bushings. adding an adjustable PHB is not going to stop problem

Hello
I noticed that you are having a issue. And I would suggest taking the vehicle and having the alignment checked. And seeing how the vehicle is lowered. I would highly suggest looking into a adjust pan hard bar to allow you to recenter the rear up under the vehicle due to it shifting when you install the new springs. Below is a link to show you what all UMI Performance has to offer.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask. And I will be more than glad to help.
Thanks
Brad

Brad, this ones for you I am debating whiter the quarter inch difference cause by the lowering springs will really matter. I am buying either your sway bar or panhard bar. I just think that the sway bar will make more of a difference. What's you opinion. Thanks

If you are having issues at high speed I would check out the alignment.

Or if it was just aligned see what specs they aligned it to.

First, do a search on the car leaning to one side, ALL of these car do it. Next unless you have a matching front bar you probably won't like having an oversized rear bar. If you want to get a 22mm rear bar look for a 35mm front bar, otherwise the car will be pretty tail happy.

I also didn't think about the back sway over powering the front...

I like + 0.50 camber both left/right
+4.00 caster left, +4.50 caster right
+ 0.06 ( about 1/16 th ) toe in
+ 0.003 rear thrust line ( this works for my car)
usually about + or -0.013

some where close to OE specs
Johnny

you should also check the tires if you haven't already.....check to make sure they're wearing evenly, and that they are aired up to somewhere between 30 - 32 psi. if the psi on one or more of the tires is low, it can cause that wheel to grab ruts in the road more than others and cause it to get squirrely.

Hello
Yeah even though its a quarter inch difference. It will still have your suspension in a bind being offset like that. And just another suggestion for you would be a set of sway bars to eliminate any body sway issues. I would suggest looking to see what type of shape the mounting bushings are in and also the end links. If they are shot you could just get away with updating them....Just some food for thought. If you have any other questions feel free to ask and I will be more than glad to help.
Thanks

I think I'll have it realigned first with the oem specs. I have been putting 32 psi in the tired all around they have 19" wheels on them, forgot what size tire. But they seem to be wearing evenly. If the alignment doesn't work I'm still clue less. I don't think the lowering would cause it to do this. It used to ride fine while it was lowered. Just seems to be getting slightly worse.

i would recommend the panhard bar, being off that much makes a difference, to me / my car at least. im lowered with simple bolt ons. as to that being the root problem... got me. but i have same problems of weaving and i know mine needs to be re-adjusted. mine also binds bad on some corners.

Did you check your sway bar end links? Worn bushings there can allow the car's body to have more roll. Also check the bar itself - mine had cracked on one side so between worn end links and a cracked bar my front end was a little jiggle happy.
