Default Crappy Ride and Handling

I have a 99 trans am. I hate the way its handling right now. I have eibach prokit on it. I recently replaced the whole rack and pinion and also the tie rod ends. No ball joints or nothing like that. When I did the springs I replaced the shocks with stock oem shocks. I honestly think it might even ride and handle worse than before. What is recommended maybe getting a stiffer spring or what?

Most people say that its mostly on your OEM shocks, they are crappy from what I have read. As far a springs,I personally would have gone with Strano or BMR. Also what is the miileage on your bird? I would replace obvious worn out suspension parts.

1+ on the OEMs running harsh with the prokits. I have been running prokit for years with bilstein shocks and while it isn't the greatest ride, its definately not the worst. If I end up having to replace them though, I would go with koni's and stranos next time.

OEM shocks are crap. I don't call them "decrapons" for nothing.

I got KYB GR-2 shocks on my car right now. They were cheap (I got them a tad under $200 for all 4 corners) and seem to be working pretty well. Better than the decrapons were. They were very rough and harsh for the first 100 miles or so, then smoothed out.

However, they are for a stock ride height. Not sure how well they would do on a prokit.

Swap the stock springs in until you can afford some good shocks, even KYB AGX's or Bilsteins should do the trick.

Boombah! There's your problem. KYB GR2 shocks are a bad idea too with lowered springs. Konis no question.. unless you can't afford it. KYB AGX as a distant second choice...
