Default Grease a-arm bushings....or put the bolts in dry

Just wondering, I have to put the stuff together and install it all on Wednesday.

Do I grease the mounting bolts that slide into the metal sleeves of the upper/lower FRONT control arm bushings?

How about greasing the ball joint stems?

Torque specs for the upper and lower mounting bolts for the control arms??

Thanks.

Grease on the bushing bolts is not absolutely necessary since the metal sleeve does not rotate on the bolt, but it is a good idea as it will prevent rust that always causes the bolts to seize up. The caster bolt on the lower A-arm almost always seizes up if left dry.

Grease on the ball joint stems is probably a bad idea. Friction and compression keep the ball joint firmly wedged in the spindle. I think grease in that area could possibly cause a tiny amount of movement that might wallow the hole out eventually. Just my .02

Thanks,

Can you tell me the torque specs for all the bolts? I can't find them anywhere.

Do I just tighten the ball joint bolts down till the cotter pin holes line up, or do you go as much as possible?

I haven't been able to find the torque specs either. I just used an impact wrench for the bushing bolts (they were hellishly tight when I removed them). For the ball joints I used a box wrench. Just don't try to tighten them to the point of stripping the threads. Hopefully somebody will chime in with the exact torque specs.

Hello
The torque specs for the lower A Arms are 120ft lbs and the uppers are 90 ft lbs. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
Thanks
