Default BMR TQ arm?

I ran my slicks last year at the track without a safety loop and they let me slide but told me this year to have one. I bought one from BMR but it will not clear my exhaust. Can I weld a loop to my BMR T/A and not affect its strength or would that mess stuff up?

I would not recommend welding or modifying anything on our arm.

Where did the exhaust want to hit our loop at?

Thanks for the information on the Texas Speed exhaust.

I haven't tried that combo here at the shop so I was surprised to hear about the exhaust clearance issue but with duals it makes sense.

I have a bolt-on driveshaft loop that clears just about any exhaust out there and does not hang low. it is form-fitting to the trans tunnel and made from NHRA legal materials. pm or call us for more info and pricing.

I doubt very seriously that any tunnel mounted torque arms will clear your exhaust either. Our loop cross plate is only made from 1/4" plate and is profiled to clear exhaust as much as possible without hanging too low. Tunnel mounted torque arm crossmembers are substantially thicker to handle the load so I just don't think you will find one to clear either.

I realize that Lee recommended in an above post not to weld to our torque arm and I would agree.....if there were any other options. I think that if done properly you could do it. Just take care when welding not to put too much heat into the arm and you will be fine.

To be NHRA legal the loop must be 1/4" x 2" if using plate and 1" x .120" if using tubing.
