Don't even bother trying to get a fixed caliper on an axle with c-clips. the axle shaft moves in and out as your corner, and the floating caliper moves to allow this.
A fixed caliper will just get the pads pushed back into the caliper, causing a long brake pedal the first time you hit the brakes.
Not worth it IMO.

On a side note I went to the dealership today and the parts guys is even swapping the Z51 rotors for the Z06 rotors. Should have them next week.

you guys i need your help.. im trying to do this swap for the ls4 community and the rest of the w bodies.. im trying to fit the camaro ss front brembos on a 2006 impala ss and so far the bolts match up but like said previously i guess the calipers were mad for a 14 inch rotor so they kinda dont cover all the surface area on the rotor so what do you guys suggest having a custom rotor and hat designed or is there a 14 inch rotor that has the same size and offset and some how same bolt pattern to work. cause right now im stumped! any help is really appreciated. thanks

Small update. I had a little time today to test fit the rotor and caliper with my wheels.
Looks like I will need about a 15mm hub adapter to get enough clearance which is what I figured. So once the hub adapter shows up and my flynbye brakes arrive I can bolt it together for real!
Here are a couple pics :

Would a c-clip eliminator upgrade solve this problem? Or am I stuck with getting a 9-inch if I really want those sweet looking fixed caliper Brembos?

All the c-clip eliminators I've seen have had a disclaimer that says "not for street use". Apparently they cannot hold the bearings in place when there are lateral g-forces involved, such as going around a corner. They are only useful for the dragstrip, where you are only going in a straight line.
