The wheel spacers are needed because most wheels do not have the spoke height to clear them calipers.

If you have custom wheels made up or specifically find wheels with a lot of caliper clearance
then no you would not need the spacers.

I finished up my 14" camaro brake swap in december, everything works out great! I used the stock 14" camaro rotors with the hubs bored out to 4th gen specs, i think it was 50 bucks at my local machine shop. You have to bore out the bolt holes on the spindle, 9/16th is the size if my memory is correct (finding the drill bit was the most difficult part of the swap, and i went through 2 of them). NO SPACERS NECESSARY on the caliper, but i defiantly needed to run wheel spacers. Used the same brake lines i had originally ordered for the CTS V swap, so nothing new there. calipers line up over the rotor perfectly, 100% of the pad is on the rotor surface. Ill update with pics if requested.

Subscribing to this! So from skimming through the thread and reading about this swap, definitely will be order some front brakes from the SS camaro! Now after doing this, we're you still able to get the O.E brake lines to work with these or I had kinda read somewhere about how your getting some made and might possibly be going into a production?!? If so would you mind giving me a link to find these lines. and can someone give me a good thread on doing a bigger brake kit for the rear without possibly doing this c-clip elimination, and for any confusion mine as well is the 02 WS6 running on C6 ( 5spoke ) vette wheels, also has anyone done the 5 spoke c6 wheels where the originals were a 17 and 18 done both like running the same rears on the fronts without any issues? and do you think I will still need to get spacers if i do this front brake conersion? Sorry if I'm asking too many questions just need some knowledge.........

All the info is at the start of the thread. OE lines will not work, KORE3 industries makes them but last I checked they were not listed seperatly on their site. You will need to call them to get the right stuff. The general consensus is that you need an 18" wheel to clear the calipers. If I remember correctly someone had a thread where they got a 17" to work with significant mods. More than likely with most replica wheels you will need a spacer. Good luck.

Please do! I'm curious to see if the skinnies will clear these calipers.

They will, I will be running 17x5 5th gen spec'd wheels. They are not cheap but should look pretty cool.

I've installed a similar set-up on my project 95 camaro. I used the C5 wheels, 1" spacer, two-piece 5th gen rotors and a set of CTS-V 6 puck calipers. (I still need a few bits to make it a complete swap)

The car isn't running yet by any means, but I don't see any fitment issues. It amazes me that a set-up could be done like this using factory equipment.

Did some homework for you:

If you enter the code FALL20 at check out you get 20% off too

1st gen CTS-V/5th gen Camaro Calipers:

5th gen Camaro brake rotor:

OR you can used the Z06 rotors (these dont need machining)
