Default help with LCA grease

hi guys
i am going to install my UMI LCAs (with polyurethane bushings) these days and i need your help about the grease.here in Greece i tried to find a synthetic grease, that i read in a topic here and they told me that it's extremely difficult to find that kind here.can i use regular chassis grease?i have a small amount of energy suspension grease in a small round box but i don't think it's enough to use for the LCAs

thanks in advance

You can use regular grease. It washes out faster during bad weather so you have to grease the car more often. You should be able to find and use Marine type grease. It has higher water resistance. Rubber type grease is not necessary because the LCAs use poly joints.

Hello,

Like mentioned a good marine grease will be fine, something heavy and sticky. Just avoid the cheap grease.

Hope that helps!

hello

i found a good marine grease, heavy and sticky like Ryan recommended, but the thing is that the grease gun i have is not good enough to do the job.it can't push the grease through the zerk fittings. can i unscrew the fittings, put some grease through the hole with something else like a syringe or something and then put the fittings back?

thanks

That probably won't do any good to do that, the grease gun forces the grease into the bushings. See if you can pick up a new grease gun or see if you can borrow one.

Hope that helps,
Ryan

how many pumps do the bushings need for the first time?i read in another thread that 2 pumps during an oil change is ok but that was when they were already installed.do they need more when they are brand new?and is it better to grease them before installation or after?

thanks

Go ahead and grease them after they are installed, 2-3 pumps will be fine and hit them every oil change or every other. If you get a lot of grease coming out around the bolt you have too much so stop and drive it for awhile.

Thanks,
Ryan

I have been using engine assembly lube (graphite / moly
loaded grease) on everything and it's staying quiet nicely.
