had the same problem with the part number.. its a really nice swap but the kore 3 c6 z06 brake kit seems to be a tad cheaper , and less hassle ..
rotors are the same , i mean are the cts-v calipers (6piston brembo) , really that superior from the Z06 ones ? (6piston pbr)

The price should be about the same. Partsdirect has the calipers for about a hundred less each than listed in the article. The brembo has a better pad design and bolts directly to the spindle. The Kore3 requires a bracket like the C5 kits and more modifications to the spindle. The only advantage I see to the Kore3 is that you are getting everything together in one purchase instead of having to source the parts out separately.

Nice build...I'd like to see a rear 4 piston setup and I'm also curious if the new ZR1 wheels will clear the 6 piston brakes...if so this is something I'd like to do since my brakes are going to hell.

remind me if im wrong , but dont you have to modify the bolt holes to fit the cts-v caliper too ? only difference is the need of a bracket..
i do prefer the brembo's but its too much hassle , but maybe i should check partsdirect , 200 bucks difference could help

Kore3's kit just requires an ear to be cut off. I think I am going to to the C6 Z06 upgrade from Kore3. Corvette engineers have proven time and time again to lead the way, the Cadillac design is awesome too but the C6 Z06 calipers look amazing!

I know this is an old thread but...
I read that it was difficult to find a set of wheels that fit over these 6-Piston brakes. I currently have a set 18x10.5 Factory GM C5 Z06 rear wheels on all 4 corners. Does anyone know if these wheels will clear?
Thanks!

this is pretty interesting bringup, as the sTi Killer ended up ditching the 6-piston CTSV brakes cuz they weren't stopping as well as they had hoped. Last thing remember reading, they went for the Baer 6-piston 2pc rotor setup and that's the last I heard about it.
wait, not true, they replaced the fronts AND rears with the Baer 6-piston fronts/4 piston rears and the rears were too much causing the rear tires to lock, so they replaced the Baer rears back to the factory rears with more aggressive brake pads and the sTi Killer was braking much better, but that was the last thing I read about it.

Oh yeah buddy, I'm pretty sure the switch was for the sTi Killer to be just that so they wanted better braking power.
for normal everyday peeps who don't really push their cars as extreme as others, the CTSV setup would be just fine I bet.
even the 2010 Camaro brakes, shoot even the C5/C6 front brakes would work too.
but if that's TRULY the case, for normal everyday driving, you could just replace the front rotors, get better brake pads, stickier tires and BOOYAH!!!
MUCH cheaper

they were saying in the article i last read about how if you upgrade the brakes you mess up the stopping geometry and the backs would lock up. i dont remember what they eventually went with but im pretty sure its the BAER because i think the wilwoods failed? and the Brembos were too much and locked up the rears

From the grave... If you read a couple of articles forward when they wen't to the Baer they found some faulty ABS wiring. I'm sure that was the real problem that was overlooked. I would think that this would be pretty close to any other BBK with the correct pad choice.
