CTS-V vs. Wilwood/Baer brakes
I'm looking to upgrade the brakes on the Camaro without breaking the bank. Does anyone know how the CTS-V brakes compare to similar Wilwood or Baer 4 piston set-ups? I've got 18'' wheels, so clearence shouldn't be a problem. Any suggestions or anyone that has experience with both? I've read the write-up on the CTS-V install and it seems simple enough. My budget is around 1,200$. Thanks for the help.

I would expect the CTS brakes to be "street duty" and have
some room for road course, while many aftermarket brakes
are "drag racing" oriented and shave weight with the idea
that you aren't going to be cooking them for more than a
couple of seconds with a long cooldown. Read the fine print
on whatever model you're looking at and if it's all about
drag racing, move along (I figure 18" rims means this is not
a drag setup).

Im personally going to go the CTS-V route for the fronts. The calipers are made by Brembo and partnered with a good set of rotors, pads, ss brake lines and some good brake fluid they are plenty capable for street duty and the occasional track outings.
