Default Front Suspension Conversion

Is there any reason that a 4th Gen front subframe can't be converted over to a 2nd Gen style with the upper control arm and shock mounting on the subframe? If the shock tower is no longer the suspension mounting point, what structural support does it provide anymore. If it still does add support can it be substituted by tying it into the chassis frame?

Just being creative. The shock towers take up a lot of room in the engine bay.

Why is that? Suspension travel? Chassis stiffness? Aren't the front Corvette suspensions setup this way?

So where you gonna put all those suspension parts that are in the shock towers once you remove them?

I figured the UCA and upper shock eyelet could be mounted to the top of the subframe.
