Default Is This Normal Braking Performance?

I can never seem to "stop on a dime". It always slides a bit and then grabs and stops me. Even if I test it at 2-3 mph, it doesn't stop immediately. Is this normal? At first under panic situations I wrote it off as being ABS (even though I don't feel the ABS like I do in newer cars), but after I tested it at lower speeds I am less sure.

I have 2 month old ATE rotors in front with Hawk HPS ferro carbon pads and just replaced rear pads on stock rotors right before having a fluid flush and refill and my brakes bled. After having the brakes bled the performance felt slightly better, but still kinda crappy. I feel like the calipers should grab harder and quickly than that. Also my car overpowers the e-brake easily, uphill, without any gas being applied. It used to work better before, what gives?

or maybe just need some more bleeding

I have stock rotors and lines with autozone ceramics and ATE fluid and they're very strong

So when you say it slides a bit do you mean its locking up the tires? If so, tires are just as important to make you stop on a dime. If you have tires with poor traction then your brakes will lock up your tires.. its the tire's job to stick you to the road

I don't believe my wheels/tires lock up in this situation. The tires are pretty good Toyo's. The gliding I am referring to feels mostly in the brakes. It does stop you, but during sudden braking on an offramp for example, it's a little scary as you feel a little like your brakes aren't going to stop you and then it grabs. Could be normal crappy brakes, but I didn't think this should occur at much lower speeds too.

You may be right, I've just never focused on it too much before. I just thought it was abnormally weak.
