Wheel Rubbing!! Help Me Please!!
NEW TO THREAD FYI
i have a 1998 trans am.
i just got new wheels and tires for it
i got 18x10 dale Earhart Jr killer wheels on the back and 8.5 wide on the front
(i love them)
and some nitto tires. not sure on the size.
i can look if it makes a diff.
my back passenger side is rubbing the fender when i hit larer bumbs on the high way.nothing crazy just a lil bit of rubbing it only does it at greater speeds
i didn't have this problem when i first got the new wheels.
and it only does it on the pass. rear so i my uneducated guess is that i need to get new springs, shocks, coil-over...something and i know nothing about this stuff so please help!
im going to be home all of January and figure now would be a good time to get it fixed.
im not looking to spend a thousand dollars or get anything super fancy just get this problem fixed

Do you have an adjustable panhard bar? If it's just rubbing on one side you could shift the rear end to that side. If it's already centered though you shouldn't really adjust it. It's rubbing the outside right? If so, your only other option that I know of is to roll the quarters a little bit

(already forgot the sizes)
and noticed that the pass side doesn't have as much..
ah crap for lack of better word springy ness to it
and thats a no to the adjustable bar. its all stock.

I agree. I'm assuming driver and passenger side are running the same wheels/tires in the back. If so and one side rubs and one doesn't then your rear end isn't centered. Get an adj. PHB, double would be nicer since you can adjust it on the car then just set it so the distance from the outside of the wheel/tire to the body is the same on both sides.

Get a single adj. PHB, then adjust it slightly longer then stock, 1/8" should be a very good start. I would also check the condition of your rear bump-stops.
IMO, if you know a shop or friend that's good at rolling fender lips, go ahead and get them rolled.
