Midwest Chassis and Performance K-Member
Just got my new k-member from Midwest Chassis and wanted to post some pics up to show how well Erics stuff is put together, I run one of his Fab 9" rear housings and love it. Nothing but the best here and I highly recommand his stuff. Weighs in at 20lbs on my scale and I've been told it will clear a 5" downpipe off a front mount turbo setup...we shell see!!!

"Pretty. Very pretty. But can they fight?" - Bickley, as "the general"
"Yes Sir!" - Col Breed
"I hope you're right" - Bickley
- The Dirty Dozen
Expect to see those saddle welds where the crossbar
meets the chassis mount tubes, let go sooner or later.
If it were me I'd do a little plate work before it went
on the car.

you can still use the k-member to jack from, but i suggest using a 10"-12" piece of wood, something like a 2x4 or 2x6 to spread the load. just a 3-4 inch wide jack pad may possibly try to start bending the cross tube. if these cars were under 3000 pounds it may be a different story, but not the case with most streetable f-bodys.

If you are gonna get a k-member for a dd type full weight car then only difference i would maybe suggest is getting one in mild steel instead of chromemoly. mild steel is more forgiving in stress wear over time and less prone to cracking. not that the cm k-member is weak or risks any breakage, but for street driven dd type cars we suggest the mild steel version. the heaviest mild steel k-member we make is still only 22 pounds total(our cm standard and race versions are even lighter) with LS mounts installed, so you are still seeing great weight savings compared to the stock k-member with mounts at 58 pounds.
