Default SFC help..

I'm looking into getting some sub frame connectors here soon. My t tops are creaking terribly and my door panel has an eight inch crack in it now . I'm looking for some opinions on some stuff. I want to get some bolt ins just for the ease of install since I can't weld anything. My question is though will they work with my stock suspension. I don't have the funds to go for the all out suspension work like LCA relocation brackets and adj panhard bar etc etc. I'm just looking to save my t tops and keep my car from flexing so much. I'm also not that huge on the whole "handle like I'm on rails" set up. My T/A is my dd back and forth to school and work so I don't really drive it hard. Just some spirited runs down the highway every so often. I really just want to stop the creaking and the sfc's seem like a good option. Opinions welcome

SFC's are probably the best thing you can do for your chassis. I bought a set of UMI 3 point SFC's and you can definitely feel the difference. It's not going to make your car feel like your chassis IS the road, but it will definitely help with your door and t-top flex.

Yeah that's what I figured. I'm just suspicious if they will bolt up to everything. I'm at 71k miles and everything is still stock suspension wise. From what I have gathered on here I think they should just bolt in without having to change anything. Plus later on down the road if I do want to lower it I'll already have a good foundation.

they will bolt up no problem. and down the road if you like, you can weld them in.

Hello,

UMI offers a a few bolt in SFC's that require no modifications to the vehicle to install and they work with all suspension set ups and items. Our bolt on SFC's require no drilling, cutting or grinding and include all hardware to install them in less than an hour.

I posted a few links below, please take a look and let me know if you have any questions. For your vehicle the 2-Point style in the first link would be just fine.

Thank you!

I can't say whether SFC's will help your t-top creaking problem. My M6 car doesn't have them and they creak. My A4 car does and they don't. But that hardly makes for a universal rule.

They will do nothing for your door panel cracking. Check out the thread on that in the Firebird forum.

One thing that SFC's will do is greatly increase impact harshness. The bumps will be transmitted all the more effectively to your seat bottom.

The general advice on here is to start your suspension upgrade with good shocks. If you're keeping your stock springs, get a set of Bilsteins. You'll be amazed at the stability they'll give your car.
