Indeed, and unless he goes over, what? 285 in the front he will be ok. I have 275/40/17 front and 285/40/17 rear OP, and as others have said you may be ok with a 315 in the rear even lowered, I know I still have plenty of room under mine. In fact just recently there was a guy that set his up to run 335s on stock style suspension...
