I've jacked the rear of my car up more times than I can count by the pumpkin - I always put a 4x4 on top of the jack pad to clear the differential cover and sway bar, but other than that, I just jack away.

it's probably best if you can put the jackstands under the rearend instead of the car actually. that way the rearend's not pulling down on the shocks and it's settled down like it would be if it was sitting on it's tires. that said, i've done it both ways plenty of times with no problems. and jacking from the rear is just fine.

Me too!!

If I had $5 for every time I've done it that way, I wouldn't need to win the lottery...I'd already be rich!!

just make sure its positioned forward enough that it does not place pressure on the dif. cover or you will be buying an new cover, gasket and fluid lol

hi,
the aforementioned are correct in their quote. however, use proper safety with jack stands and ramps. i also use 8x8x14 inch wooden blocks with 2x6x8 inch blocks on top. you can never be to0 safe.........double check everything and use caution to avoid injury....safety....safety....safety....
have a blessed day...........jim
