Default Is a line lock worth it for an A4 f-body?

I have a daily-driven 2002 Z28 with the 4L60E transmission and the basic bolt-ons. I'm thinking about buying Thunder Racing's $215 line lock kit. How will this kit help me? And is it worth it? Thank you in advance for the info.

What do you do with your car?? if you drag it a good bit, then yes it would be useful on the burnout.

it works great for burnouts at the track. It locks the front brakes but not the backs. Here in a couple of months I will be buying SJM's abs delete w/linelock solenoid.

i heard its good no matter what trans (auto/manual) since it only applies pressure to the front brakes and doesnt mess up your rears

I was running Drilled/Slotted Rotors, and cracked the rears doing burnouts and brake stands. Needless to say I replaced the rear pads/rotors, but for next season I bought an SLP Line Loc kit that I still need to install. Its around $160 on Summit I believe.

Definetely go for it if you drag race where you would need to heat up the rear tires.

yes-yes
I have ran SLP unit for last 11 years and would" do it again"

Johnny

PS: a little install info

I uesd 11 years, still works great, when applied my front tires have never moved

LINE LOCK INFO

IS hole behind pcm , but I drill hole beside steering colum also ( drill from inside out ) put a peace of rubber hose in hole ran wire inside hose, then use same type wire wrap as GM,tie wrap to the big rubber hose comming over master cyl
I also mounted switch in ash tray
I have used this unit for 4-6 years with NO problems ( well yes one problem :::SLICK tires )

PS ::Connect brake line to master cyl and line lock ,the second line which goes to ABS block start it but leave it loose, remove cap from master cyl and let the lines grivity bleed watch the loose connection untill all air is out and run pure fluid ( may shake the line a little to help bleed ( REMEMBER BRAKE FLUID WILL REMOVE PAINT
I placed plastic sheet over fender)if does not gravity bleed blow into master cyl and have some one watch for fluid at ABS block >>>THIS way you do not have to bleed the brakes from under car- I had no problem of any kind
also the picture from SLP is UPSIDE DOWN install with the wire connection UP
Sorry for the long post, hope it helps

Why did SSAM98 say no? Of course it is! Unless you like dangerous brake fade, warped rotors and changing brake pads.

That is unless you don't drag race.

A line lock is a very good tool to clean the tires as well as heat the rubber aid in traction.

Whether your car is an auto or manual, a line lock system will help control the car during the above mentioned. It will also reduce wear on your drivetrain, brake-pads rotors etc. The small investment in the kit will repay itself in wearing other more expensive parts.

Our kits use a two stage switch design with remote mount LED. Component fittings come assembled, no Teflon tape is necessary. Remove the stock line between the master cylinder and ABS controller and replace with the preformed configuration in place, it's that simple. Kits start at 135.99.

Here's a few videos some of our customers posted on YouTube.

I didnt read the results or posts.. here is MY opinion.

You will SAVE your pads in the rear if you do the line lock. Enough said.

If your a burnout freak like half the people on here (minus me actually) than YEAH the line lock is good.

If you like underhood cosmetics, it could be nice too, to see the solenoid under there and then you have the little toggle switch (or whatever type of switch you used) to "Show off" that "something" is under that sexy hood of course. One might think Nitrous, one might think Line Lock, one might think...... well, one might NOT think lol.
