Ladder Bars- They are great for straight line performance. The downside is the way they are mounted to the rear axle, which causes the suspension to bind anytime it trys to articulate. Compared to the four-Link the have little to no adjustment. The only real adjustment would be changing the front mounting point and the rear adjuster which helps with pinion angle adjustments.
Four Link- First off the advantage of the four-link is the wide window of adjustment it has. Also the way the four link is mounted it will not bind up like the ladder bar setup. Four-Links can be very tricky to tune. Making changes could be bad if you do not have the knowledge of how this setup works and what your adjustments are changing and how the car is going to react to them.
That is just a little info that might get you started. I dont claim to be an expert what so ever. So anyone feel free to correct me if im wrong. Im not sure how much you actually know about the two different setups but there is a lot of good info out there. I would say just do some searching.
I didnt see anywhere what kind of car you have. So if you could let us know that. Maybe you could get some more feedback. (i.e.) If you have an fbody there is a huge aftermarket for them. There are a lot more options than just the ladder bars and four link.
Also are you planning on driving this car on the street at all or is it going to be a track only car? What are you e.t. goals? Are you planning a full tube chassis car? What size tire? This might help a little also.

What kind of vehicle? I am assuming 4th gen f-body? If so why not just work with the stock style torque arm suspension? There has been many cars go really fast using stock style suspension.
