Default Zo6 Calipers

I've read the threads and i can buy them pretty cheap. My question is are they any better than camaro calipers? They look like 2 piston on the front calipers? What are the stock camaro calipers? Rear are single piston no?

they are similar to camaro calipers, but pressure cast, vs gravity cast, like the camaro ones, the extra ribs and presure cast, are less prone to spreading under hard use.

they are a good budget upgrade. But it won't be a huge difference lke going to 6 piston wilwoods.

But if you upgrade to a complete ZO6 brake system with the 14" rotors i bet you'll feel a good difference.

That would be cool, but i am getting the feeling i should spend more and get Bears, Brembos or Wilwoods or keep the stock ones.

The lowest priced Baer system includes the same calipers that were installed on the car stock. (PBR's) It's only when you spend more money that you get the 4 (?) piston Alcon's.

If it's just for the street, stick with the stock, Corvette or ZO6 upgrade.

Are the dimensions of the Z06 calipers the same as stock f-body?
That is, will they clear stock 16inch wheels?

I'm almost sure that they're very close in dimension. The extra cooling fins and the raised "CORVETTE" on the face might add some depth, but not enough to be concerned about.
Most people run into problems when they upgrade the stock 12" rotor to the Corvette 13" rotor.

NineBall would probably be the best person to ask about all of this.
