Default Way to much play in my steering wheel

There's like a inch an a half of play in my steering wheel my cars got 166k on suspension only mods are uni torque arm relocation kit, wat could this problem be??? I'm pretty sure there's a tad of play but not no inch and half

4 loose bolts in the steering column . They are a bitch to get to and you need special tool , dealership will charge about 250 bucks .

yeah , its 4 bolts at the waay bottom of the column , they will probably red locktite them in and youll never have a problem again .

Is the dealer only 1 that can do it??? Is this problem common in f bodies or firebirds???

could be the rag joint. its a rubber piece that is supposed to dampen vibration. it causes alot of play especially in high mileage cars since its right next to a high heat part. . its under the hood next to the header. its connected to the steering shaft. i would take a look at that before what was suggested above.

I had the same problem. I traced it down the the rack and pinioin. After swapping it with a new unit....problem gone, and steering is tight like if should be.

I replaced the rack with my 02 and it had 75k on it about a year ago is it possible that went bad???

double check the bottom bolt on the steering shaft where it goes into the rack. mine had the same problem and i just tightened the **** out of it and that fixed it. no play at all now
