Trying to remove front shock. Ball joint spinning. Help!

Default Trying to remove front shock. Ball joint spinning. Help!

Im halfway through my BMR spring and bilstein shock swap. problem is on the drivers side i am trying to remove the bolt that holds the spindle to the upper control arm, and the ball joint is spinning. What do i do?

Lube, heat, impact, perhaps a pickle fork if you really have to get aggressive, just buy a new ball joint now and go to town on it

Hi,
usually will come out with some downward pressure using tie rod/ball joint tool. However, vice grips will work as last resort. Replace joints using care to protect boots from damage. I would suggest replacing upper and lower joints and then get yourself a quality 4-wheel alignment. Check joint -by turning with fingers/if shaft turns freely replace.best of luck and have a blessed week....jim

got it out using some vice grips with minimal damage. Now, my strut mounts broke when i tore those apart so i need a new one of those
