How many of you are running your front sway bar and who isnt. Did it help or hurt you?

The only guys that aren't running one usually take it off when they are drag racing to drop weight up front and, correct me if I'm wrong, have better weight transfer to the rear for traction. There are a couple threads where someone has already asked this question before. Next I would do a search first. I'm sure if anyone else posts they will agree.

I took mine off shortly after buying my car and yet it helps with weight transfer.

I did a search thank you so go **** someone else off.
I am currently not running a front sway bar, because I wanted to loss weight. But it seems like my car is twisting worse with it off and im afraid it might be hurting my traction. Anyone else have this issue?

What's your application? I assume drag-strip primarily?

Since you told the other guy to **** someone else off, does that mean the rest of us can **** you off?

The sway bar is also known as an "anti-roll bar" and its predominant function is to act as an extra spring when there is a difference in the amount of the left and right suspension are compressed or extended.

I am going to assume you are concerned about the twisting at launching and not the twisting resulting in **** poor handling. You can try to compensate for it with a big rear sway bar (which will help make it more dangerous to drive on the street) or a rear airbag if you are concerned. Likely though you should still have a marginal improvement in 60' with the bar off due to less weight on the nose and better weight transfer.

I personally drove my T/A everyday for 3 years with no front sway bar, it honestly didn't change the feel of the car too much. As long as you are not trying to take corners at a million miles per hours you will be fine with taking the front sway bar off.

By taking the front sway bar off, you are allowing the front suspension to travel more freely and taking a good bit of weight off the car. The easier suspension travel will allow for better weight transfer and better 60 ft times which lead to better ET's.

I personally saw a decent reduction in ET from removing my sway bar and I didn't miss it one bit since I had no interest in corner handling of the car. I recommend it if you are going to be sticking to drag racing but if you plan on doing any kind of handling stuff it is going to hurt you substantially.

Exactly.....Its mainly a street/track car. Its not a DD. Its cam only, converter, gears, and full exhaust. On motor i have bo issues at the track. I can dead hook, the car just twist really bad. On a 125 shot it wont hook till 60 foot out.
The twisting is what concerns me. I know they make SFCs, but i was just mainly looking to see if anyone had a before and after time from just taking the sway bar off.

If he car is launching unevenly your are going to need to start looking at anti-roll bars. They will help give you level consistant launches and keep the chassis from twisting all up. Here is a picture of our BMR anti-roll bar.

Thanks a lot, I am strictly drag strip, and i have fats and skinnies on my car so no corners for me lol. I took mine off and noticed a very little difference when turning, so i went back and took the brackets and all off the car. It does flex bad. I was thinking that the sway bar really only controlled side to side. I didnt realize it helped fron suspension travel front to rear. It will pull the front left tire but not the right. I am currently looking into the bigger rear sway bar that you offer.
