Default Adjust Rear Coil Perch with internal Bumpstop

Finally DONE! moved my bumpstop to inside my coil so I could have more room for 315's. The whole thing was about $200.00 include hypercoil springs.

Looks good... Do you have a list of parts you used?

The adjustable spring perch you can get from any circle track supplier. Its made by AFCO. its about $35.00 for a pair. Its around weight jacks etc. Race Car Engineering even sells a generic one for about $25.00. I the welded a plate on the bottom to help it sit on my 12 bolt. I then welded a plate halfway down the inside thats threaded in the middle to take the bumpstop mounting bolt. This allow the height of the bumpstop to be adjustable as well as the ride height.
The springs are 5x11 Hypercoils I currently have #175's but I'm thinking of trying #150's. They go for around $90.00.
I then have vibration isolators up top from energy suspension part #9.6107 $18.00
The bump stops are part #9.9143 Can remember maybe $25.00

There you go.
This my stance, I will probably drop it another 1/4" front and 1/2" in the back.

Is this the coil spring spacer that you used? I gues you trimmed the sleeve off completly and then welded the plate in its place right?

That's a good idea. This is one of the few "custom" easier mods I've seen on here that isn't a total butcher job lol. Very nice

Very cool. Hows the ride quality compared to the stock bump stops? I wonder if this will dent the body/spring perch area when it contacts it, or possibly bend or crack the perch on the axle over time?

Nice Modification!
BTW, How well do those bumpstops work compared to stock?

Its upside down, and I cut the cup away and welded a plate on the bottom with the right size hole to locate the perch.

Ok to address the last 2 posts. I can't imagine the poly urethane piece denting the upper spring perch. Remember it is designed to cushion the blow. A good suspension is designed to make the bump stop compression part of the design. This style has much more travel/compression. I up until this point I don't think I sufficiently contact the bumpstop, one of the reasons I'm going to give 150# springs a try. PS my KONI DA are set to full soft comp and 13/4 in for rebound.

Very Nice. Were you able to weld it with the rear end under the car? How much did you weld? Thanks for posting this.

No need to weld it, it fits into the cup that came on the SPOHN 12 bolt. That way it is very easy to remove as and assembly. Just unbolt the shockes and their is enough room to lift and remove the spring and all.

thanks buddy

Do the bumpstops just slide inside the sleeve or did you use an adhesive to keep them in place?

To let everyone know, I love the 150# springs. Put them in Saturday. The ride is so smooth and it handles great.

Keep them for a few weeks to make sure I don't need them when I autocross.

What I was getting at was that part of the car was never meant to take that kind of blow, and I don't know how reinforced that area is.
Regardless thats a cool setup, please keep us updated with it.
