Default CTS-V calipers under 17'' rims (can it be done)

My plan:

CTS-V calipers coupled with C5 rotors under a 17'' TTm.

Does anyone know, from experience, that this definitely cannot be done? If not, I will be attempting this in about 2 weeks.

I know that I will need a spacer to push the wheel out so that the caliper can clear the spokes, and I know I will need longer studs, but my real worry is that the diameter is just not there. However, my thought process is, if 18'' rims can fit 14'' rotors with these calipers, then 17'' rims should be able to fit 13'' rotors with these calipers, am I right? Sounds logical to me.

There was a thread awhile ago about that but the OP flaked it and closed the thread. The guy had to modify his stock spindle (cut off the ears) make his own bracket and run a big spacer for the wheels.... But other than that its been done

Doubt it works with the TTM because of the spoke design. I don't even think you can get the normal C% upgrade under that wheel.
