If you remove the spring and shock as an assembly you
can get them pressed real cheap at any tire store that
likes walkup cash.

You would have to take them out to access the top nut...

If you have qa1's cant u just use a spanner wrench? Mine have a threaded body. All I had to do was loosen the nut, adjust the height and retighten the nut.

Just use a spanner wrench and some muscle and you should have no problem adjusting the ride height using the adjustment nut on the body of the shock.

yes, you can do it, depending on how big your spring compressors are. i tried doing that on my spring install, but found it was more of a PITA than it was worth because you have to keep lowering the car to the ground to check your height. I just bit the bullet and muscled through it.

you could just do it to help you initially get to 'almost there', then muscle through it for the last inch of fine tuning.

to give you a rough guideline, i did BMR 1" drop A-arms (AA020) with strange shocks and 300lb springs. the spring perch is around 1" from the top of the threads to make it even with the BMR springs i put in the back. it actually still needs to come up about 1cm in the front to make it perfect (it settled a bit after i drove it).

dont use the stock shock as a guideline, or your car will be ON the ground
