Hello,

I am pretty sure we offer one of the only bolt in SFC's for the vehicle, most other companies are weld in only.. .so if you are looking for bolt in make sure you check! Our part #'s 2002 and 2004 are both 100% bolt in with no cutting or drilling and can be installed in 30 minutes.

I hope that helps!

At this point in time we only manufacture weld-in suframe connectors. The main reason we do this is because we really like the idea of having the subfame connectors become part of the chassis and the best way to do this is to weld them in. I also don't like the idea of having a bolt loosen up or back out making the bolt-in subframe connectors useless. There is a reaon none of the real fast guys use bolt-in subframe connectors. If you have any questions or would like to order a set either PM me here or give me a call at the shop.

I would either weld them, or get the UMI weld-in versions with extra weld spots and their bolt kit so you can weld them later if you choose.

I've had my bolt in SLP SFCs in for 4 years now and never had any issues with bolts backing out. Torque them correctly and recheck the bolts after a week or so for tightness and you shouldn't have any issues.

I love when people talk about not trusting bolts on boltin subframe connectors.. Every other damn part on the car bolts in, why worry only about your SFC's, plus its nothing a little loctite can't solve. Boltin also has the option to weld on if desired. Removable if you ever sell the car or just want them gone..

Just installed UMI bolt-ons on my M6 car yesterday. Did it on a drive-on lift which is the perfect way, since the suspension is loaded. Very simple job and they fit up perfectly. I'll drive it for a hundred miles or so and retorque - should be good to go.

I put them on to try to help the t-top creaking I have on this car. Jury's still out on that.

Ditto. Since early 2003 here as well, never had them back out after retorquing them a week after installation.

I do not doubt that BMR makes good SBCs. The company makes good products. But, it is much easier to bolt on the SBCs instead of putzing around with clamps an soforth. For those who are concerned about the bolts loosening, just weld a bead on all four corners after bolt up for safety.

But if you saw how tightly UMI SBCs bolt to the body, you would realize that welding them is overkill. The bolt ons also eliminate any alinement and fit up problems.

When your talking about your chassis I would think it needs to be welded no? Its hard to believe bolts would be good enough for something like this. I would think the bolts would without a doubt move around somewhat.

I have somebodies bolt in connectors they are the sq. type. I've had zero issues with them going on 12 yrs now. The roll bar actually bolts through them in some spots. That was a pain to drill a 3/8" hole in. Good mod ,one of the 1st ones to make.

I got the UMI bolt-ins as well. I've had em for 3 years, no complaints.

Can't help but laugh at bolts not being strong/stiff enough or whatever...last I checked my wheels are "bolted on" with lug nuts and they don't move or wobble off.

I just dont know how those things are fitted/bolted on. Havent seen them or bolted on the hardware myself so its hard to imagine what kind of fit they would have but you dont have to think to hard to know a weld is gonna hold over a bolt. IDK about you but I have seen bolts losen up on wheels lol
