Search for a place that specializes in track cars. He will think you have a 4 x 4. Mine goes to place that does 95% race cars.

They're called "J-Hooks", and are sort of like a turnbuckle with a hook at each end. The hooks seat in a couple of holes in the OE K-member, that are there specifically for alignment purposes. After loosening the two large bolts that secure the lower a-arm to the k-member, you use these hooks to push or pull the a-arm into the correct position, to achieve proper wheel alignment.

Since so few shops have these hooks, I bought a pair of them, to make it easier to do the alignment on my Camaro. I sold the car a couple of years ago, however, and no longer need these tools. I'd be willing to sell them, if anybody is interested....

couldn't the tech just use a pry bar to pry the lower a-arm into spec after the bolt is loosened?

He/she could, but it's a little tricky, as it's very easy to go "back and forth", trying to get the in the exact position....then getting it to "stay put" as you tighten down the nuts and bolts. I tried it once, back when I briefly had access to an alignment rack, and that's why I bought the j-hooks.

I have a simple set of tools and a ball of string, no frustration with shops required..
